Downhill Spain
10- 18 October 2026:
This ride is a centre based trip on which the rides are all downhill! (well, almost). 5 days of riding, 74 miles, 1434 ft. of ascent and 14,800 ft. of descent! The ride is inclusive of transfers from Alicante airport to our base in the El Comtat region of Spain, all breakfasts,and all evening meals. Bike hire is also included. Riders and bikes will be transported to the top of one of the many climbs in the area each day and then you just ride downhill, you’ll hardly need to pedal at all, although there are some small uphill sections. At the bottom we will have either coffee and a snack or lunch depending on the time.
Saturday
Arrival.
Arrive at Alicante airport and transfer to Cocentaina.
Sunday
Port de Tudons to Villajoyosa.
17 miles. 360 ft. of ascent, 3,700 ft. of descent.
Monday
Benicadell to Rugat and Lorcha.
12 miles. 259 ft. of ascent, 2,188 ft. of descent.
Tuesday
Port de Confrides to Callosa Motor Museum and Benilloba.
19 miles. 351 ft. of ascent, 4206 ft. of descent.
Wednesday
Alt d’Ebo to Pego and Margarida to Planes.
11 miles. 203 ft. of ascent. 2,614 ft. of descent.
Thursday
Day off
To visit the market, walk to the castle or explore the town.
Friday
Port de Carrasqueta to Cocentaina.
15 miles. 247 ft. of ascent, 2,000 ft. of descent.
Saturday
Holiday ends
Holiday ends after breakfast. Transfer to Alicante airport.
