Experience the fantastic Denia Fallas where huge figures are built to compete to be the best ones in each category. Saturday

Arrival.

Transfer from Alicante airport to arrive at your accommodation, check in and assemble or collect your hire bike.

If your arrival time is early enough there will be time for a short ride to familiarise yourself with the area, and check for any problems with your bike.

Sunday

Javea and castle visit.

 In the morning, a walk to visit Denia castle. This will give people a chance to collect rented bikes (if not already done so). In the afternoon, a ride to Javea, skirting the Montgo Natural Park and enjoying a beach-front lunch. 23 miles, 1209ft of ascent.

Monday

Rio Mar

Rio Mar. We thread our way along the coast to a beachside café/bar in a lovely spot, for coffee. This is a great beach for a paddle or a swim if it is warm enough. Back through quiet lanes to our hotel. 19 miles, 462ft ascent.


Tuesday

Font Salada

Through typical Spanish villages before arriving at the attractive Font Salada for coffee. Font Salada has a warm spring, and people can be found swimming in it almost all year round. We will return along the former Denia to Gandia railway line. 30 miles, 812ft. ascent.

Wednesday

Petracos

A bus trip to Gandia to visit the Fallas Museum. This day may be subject to change and availability.

Thursday

Coll de Rates

Beniarbeig and the Meridian Bridge. The Meridian Bridge is perfectly aligned with the Prime Meridian, Western hemisphere on one side, Eastern hemisphere on the other. After a stiff climb we head back on a dedicated cycle path. This is the day when the Fallas will be burned. 25 miles, 1097ft ascent.

Friday

Oliva

Quiet lanes to Gata de Gorgos, then a lovely road to Lliber. On to Alcalali before returning along a beautiful road via Pedreguer. Jalon Valley. 30 miles, 1522ft ascent.

Saturday

Holiday ends

Holiday ends after breakfast. Transfer to Alicante airport.
