Denia Fallas Fiesta

The Fallas Fiestas are held throughout the Valencia region with huge figures buit and then burnt.

This trip has shorter rides to enable us to see the amazing structures.

Arrival

Transfer from Alicante airport to arrive at your accommodation, check in and assemble or collect your hire bike.

If your arrival time is early enough there will be time for a short ride to familiarise yourself with the area, and check for any problems with your bike.

Denia castle walk and Javea

In the morning, a walk to visit Denia castle. This will give people a chance to collect rented bikes (if not already done so). In the afternoon, a ride to Javea, skirting the Montgo Natural Park and enjoying a beach-front lunch.

23 miles, 1209ft.

Rio Mar

We thread our way along the coast to a beachside café/bar in a lovely spot, for coffee. This is a great beach for a paddle or a swim if it is warm enough. Back through quiet lanes to our hotel.

19 miles, 462ft.

Font Salada

Through typical Spanish villages before arriving at the attractive Font Salada for coffee. Font Salada has a warm spring, and people can be found swimming in it almost all year round. We will return along the former Denia to Gandia railway line.

30 miles, 812ft. ascent.

Fallas Museum

A bus trip to Gandia to visit the Fallas Museum. This day may be subject to change and availability.

Meridian bridge

Beniarbeig and the Meridian Bridge. The Meridian Bridge is perfectly aligned with the Prime Meridian, Western hemisphere on one side, Eastern hemisphere on the other. After a stiff climb we head back on a dedicated cycle path.

25 miles, 1097ft.

Jalon Valley

Quiet lanes to Gata de Gorgos, then a lovely road to Lliber. On to Alcalali before returning along a beautiful road via Pedreguer. This is the day when the Fallas will be burned.

30 miles, 1522ft.

Departure

Holiday ends after breakfast. Transfer to Alicante airport.
